“At the end of the day we can endure much more than we think we can.” – Frida Kahlo
Taylor Fernandez joined Loving Life Today so she could help young individuals live a healthier and happier life.
Taylor is deeply passionate about early intervention and support in mental health counseling for children and young adults. She firmly believes that by providing a nurturing environment and dedicated time, young individuals can effectively navigate and process their internal and external challenges. Her goal is to foster emotional well-being from an early age and create a safe space where people feel empowered to share, explore, and grow.
Going through adverse childhood experiences during her developmental years inspired Taylor to work as a therapist. At that time, she struggled with her own mental health and wished she had known more about the importance of mental health and the power of therapy.
Taylor has over five years of experience in counseling in Hillsborough County Public Schools. She is currently a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the state of Florida and hopes to finish her internship and become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who focuses on mental health counseling for school-aged children.
With her background in school counseling, Taylor is aware of what systems, supports, and processes are in place in schools within Hillsborough County for students who are struggling in school due to mental health, academic, and/or behavioral issues. She is familiar with 504 accommodations/plans, as well as the process for a student to receive a psycho-educational evaluation.
Taylor utilizes positive psychology and loves seeing the impact a counselor can have on a child.
In her free time, Taylor likes to spend time with family, do puzzles and word searches, and travel.
